Probably not. I’ve mentioned the idea to a few of my students, and most of them responded quite enthusiastically to the notion. Of course, President Zeman is extraordinarily polarizing here, and most of the students I deal with - professional, highly-educated, widely-travelled - despise Zeman and consider him a foul-mouthed, alcoholic bigot who makes the Czech Republic look bad.

Of course, the potential new government of oligarch Andrej Babiš - and possibly the fanatical xenophobe Tomio Okamura as a silent unofficial partner in a minority government - makes more than a few of my students scream in abject horror.

Mostly because Okamura’s big priority is a “Czexit” out-of-the-EU referendum. And I’d give it a damned good chance of passing.

Wasn’t the previous Czech President, Vaclav Klaus a big boob too? I remember a friend of mine getting him mixed up with Havel. Hate seeing this happen in the CR. Always did like my grandmother’s sister country and they gave the Rusyn people a lot more autonomy than a lot of countries have.
