It’s really convenient here with mail voting. Turns out conservatives are all in favour of easy access when they benefit from it.

I am not a big fan of voting by mail. There is no way to validate who actually completed the form; a parent can vote for a child, a husband can vote for a wife. I know personally of a case years ago where a son voted for his mother with Alzheimer’s and was totally incapable of making any decisions; his vote was the opposite of what his mother would have done when she had her faculties. When our mother had Alzheimer’s and was voting, she still had very strong opinions and we followed her wishes even when we disagreed.

There is also the problem that the vote cannot be made confidential; a domineering spouse can force the other to vote their wishes.
