Okay, I’ll ask…for my purposes, besides just personally thinking that 88 keys are better than 61, what is the difference for me and my girls?

88 is the same as a piano. Anything written for piano can be played on it. It is bigger but with weighted keys responds to the hand like an acoustic instrument.

Smaller keyboards are good for traveling or playing in a band. Or if space is limited.

For someone just starting, id want a full size keyboard to avoid any bad habits a smaller one might cause.
