Indeed. If you look at the political divide that began in 1789, it was whether one favored the Washington administration or opposed it which was complicated since you had Hamilton in the Treasury and Jefferson in the State Department.

As any fan of Hamilton can tell you, Alex HATED Jefferson with the white-hot passion of a thousand burning suns. Jefferson tried repeatedly to get Hamilton tossed from the cabinet… which didn’t work because Hamilton had been Washington’s right-hand throughout the war, and they grew close. W had a lot of faith in the value of H’s unconventional ideas, and protected him.

Hamilton was the deciding vote that got Jefferson elected, but only because he hated Burr even more.
