and yeah, I’ve been in exactly those classes. it was this sort of snotty Geman teacher we had who was wound WAY too tight. She was easy to mess with, so my skate-punk dirtbag friends messed with her. Sneaking around the class, doing Manson Creepy Crawly furniture moving pranks, the works. Then she screamed THIS IS CHICKENSHIT at the class and ran out. Some kids got detention, there was a substitute for a while.

All kids need is a trigger sometime. They have a teacher that sets off their spidey sense, and they’re already predisposed to dislike muslims, and BAM, recipe for disastah.

I just sat in the back and drew pictures, like I did in every class in jr. high.

Actually, I went to my teaching credential class after that, and explained that I’d confiscated a Bible. One of my classmates said “What was in the Bible?”

I said “The WORD OF GOD, Carol.”

She said, “You mean they were actually reading the Bible?”

They were. Right in the middle of my English class. Just decided that while I was standing there yakking about topic sentences was a good idea for some Bible study.

I did give it back after class was over.
