Humus is so easy to make and for a fraction of the cost. Unless you soak your own beans and don’t do canned ones, but the canned ones are fine. Tahini, garbanzos, olive oil, salt, garlic, lemon to taste. I like mine lemony.

One can gasbanzos, save the water, garlic clove or two, 4 tablespoons tahini, salt pinch or four, 1/4 cup lemon juice or so, little olive oil. The trick is to get the consistency so the blender will make it flow just a bit, no more. Add the water carefully, just like when you mix cement.

Spread on a dish 1 inch deep and cover with olive oil to keep the top from drying out.
