Their logic is this: Everything great in the 80’s and beyond was Reagan’s doing, everything bad was either Clinton or even Bush I’s fault or Tip O’Neill and the Democratic leadership at that time for deceiving him.

Ayep. It’s an article of faith that Reagan wanted budget cuts and O’Neill screwed him over, taking tax increases but not honoring a deal to match them to bigger budget cuts.
