Man, I don’t know where she got it from but my cousin had the best hummus ever catered to her wedding. So tasty.

Mrs. FBW and I are as pasty white, middle American looking as you can imagine. We went to a Lebanese restaurant, and ordered the appetizer platter. The waiter put it in front of us very snootily, and asked condescendingly, “Do you know what this is?”, pointing at the hummus.

Mrs. FBW cheerfully replied, “This is hummus, and that’s tabouleh, and this is baba ghanouj, and these are dolma!” The waiter seemed very pleased that we knew about these foods, and after that was considerably less snooty.

Right up until Mrs. FBW asked, “What do you call these peppers, they’re like pepperoncini?”

“Pepperoncini,” he replied, somewhat snootily.
