Basically, instead of just opposing the motions to dismiss, Trump’s attorney doubled down on the stupid by trying to fix as many of the problems with the complaint as possible. The problem is, the lawsuit is fundamentally flawed from the outset, so nothing the attorney tries to do is really going to help. The “right strategy” here - and one that I expected, and Akiva did too - would have been to just let this die in the motion to dismiss phase, and fuel a conspiracy theory that They (tm) shut down the lawsuit on procedural grounds because They (tm) didn’t want the truth to come out. Instead, they’re pressing forward with it, and I feel sorry for the lawyers here who aren’t going to get paid after they lose this turdbucket of a case.
