And for cops, they constantly see vast sums of illegal money (if they’re at all involved in drug busts) and when you make barely enough to get by it’s too easy to either take some from a bust or get on the take.

Better training and better pay might help. But there is an attraction to the power of being a cop, so better hiring practices and some kind of psychological testing is needed.

And way more enforcement of the consequences of their actions.
