The sad reality of the past 2 decades is that there was too much confirmation bias working in favor of shitheels like Greenwald, Assange, and Snowden. Too many people with their own agendas happily latching onto any story that painted the government in the worst light, even if it was being done with the help of persons or organizations acting in bad faith.
