Anyway, for all the ranting and raving the wingnuts do about the teaching of math in schools, they show little knowledge of the subject themselves.

I could teach a child everything the wingnuts think “math” encompasses with a stack of (two colors of) poker chips, a deck of standard playing cards, and a pair of Vegas dice. Doubt they’d let me bring those things into a classroom, though.

caterpillars give me pause. i can never remember which have poison spineys and which simply imitate the ones with poison spineys.
