The would constitute a very narrow reading of “bear arms,” which would probably raise the question of does the government have a duty to ensure that people have cheap access to bullets, no matter how rare? There are many very old firearms for which the rounds simply aren’t made anymore and would have to be custom ordered. Should the government subsidize said orders to ensure that those weapons can be brought to bear?

For some one as near broke as me, it wouldn’t take much of a tax for it to become a defacto ban on me shooting factory ammunition.

Not to mention what bits are taxed - Only factory made bullets? Then with my reloading press & bullet molds I’m no different than I am today.

The problem is, always, where do you draw the line? The current court will not draw it some want and another court will not draw it where others want.
