Transporting a weapon loaded that is not your direct control (i.e. in a holster on your body) is a big no-no. Guns don’t just go bang, but if there’s a round in the chamber and something, not just a finger, pulls the trigger it fires.

I wish there were more details of this event because it’s quite peculiar that she was shot in the jaw. This leaves me to believe that perhaps they, or her, were/was handling the weapon in the car.
