Ryan rather gave the game away the other day: The problem with the current system (in conservative eyes) is that the sick and poor are being subsidized by the healthy and rich. The reality is a bit simpler than that: They see the very existence of insurance as a problem. That health care should be restricted to only those with the means to pay their bills on the spot. The rest of us are viewed as a drain on the resources of our “betters.”
