i mentioned it yesterday

a committee member must be a house member AND has to be a member of the Democratic caucus or the Republican conference.

if the house R’s get savvy and boot Cheney/Kinzinger out of the conference, then they would lose their 1/6 committee seats

sure, they could then join the Dem caucus. They dont have to register dem to do this - but the optics would be miserable going forward..
