Comment #2: We need to explain to people that even if your co-workers laugh at a crass “joke,” and don’t complain, it’s not okay. It creates an atmosphere where such “jokes” prevail, and sooner or later you are sexually harassing someone.
I call it the “Next woman in the room” phenomenom. If you are, say, the head of IMF, and six women in a row have agreed to give you sexual favors, that doesn’t mean the seventh is going to, and might just cost you your career and your position.
