What’s your point? Because Jordan treats her Palestinian refugees like shit, Israel should not catch any grief for also treating the Palestinians like shit until the world also puts grief on Jordan?

I think it’s fairly telling that you can even pretend to read that into what I wrote.

No, my point is that this can’t get fixed if everyone involved doesn’t want it to get fixed. Israel doesn’t have a magic wand. Perhaps it’s naive to hope that some sort of regional cooperation could actually put the problem to bed. But without that, this whole situation could drag on to infinity.

Jordan’s record on her Palestinian residents is actually better than that of several other nations, as I made a point of mentioning. If Israel and Jordan could work together honestly, it would make an enormous difference. There are reasons that isn’t likely to happen, but it would be enormously worthwhile. This is something I have, perhaps irrational, hope for.
