Yes. They absolutely believe that most of the country agrees with them and that the problem is shitty candidates, not shitty ideas.

They look at maps like this one and ignore little things like population density. They don’t get that most of those blue patches correspond with the most heavily populated areas of the country. They’re firmly entrenched in their RWNJ media bubble where they think the problem is lousy pundits and lousy predictions, not lousy ideas and shifting demographics.

Hence “Real Americans” and associated myths.
