Beinart’s thesis isn’t about settlements

He attempts to redefine Zionism into an image of his own creation into a heavy handed, discriminatory and even violent expression.

He has since moderated some of that, for some odd reason- such as being called out for not putting Israeli policies into the context of responding to 60 plus years of calls to genocide, bigotry and racism.

Beinart does raise some important issues which merit discussion, not the least if which is the seemingly endless occupation and the effect that has on Israeli and Palestinian societies.

The fault however is not Israel’s alone.
