No, they have to start somewhere. This is a proof of concept. I personally didn’t think they even had a plane ready to try this, but clearly they do. Now they can go back, check that everything worked as intended, and fix anything that didn’t work quite right.

In the end they need 2 more to have a single carrier deployed at all times, but they are now on their way (3 is the magic number, 1 in port for refit, one out for training/reserve, one deployed).

But then, you know the thing is going to be shadowed at all times by an American sub that is probably so quiet they won’t even be sure it is there.
