I’m not suggesting keeping a U.S.-backed (or ANY) dictatorship, only that this isn’t a major surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention. I think Egypt will evolve, but it looks like it will be long and painful. I doubt we will live to see a democratic Egyptian nation that is “free” in the secular sense.
