It would have been cool if an armed citizen(s) shot them dead on the spot as suspected terrorists, etc.

No matter how dumb these guys are, no matter how assholish their behavior is, death is not to be toyed with, nor to have fun with. Death is permanent, after all. Ignorance can be dispelled. Assholes can learn their behavior is not acceptable.
