Believe it or not, Erick Son of Erick’s position is apparently somewhat more sane than Tea Party orthodoxy. EE wants to separate the shutdown from the debt ceiling by passing a clean debt ceiling increase, the better to focus on the shutdown.

Only because he thinks that will hurt the President, not because it’s fiscally sound.
