Not that much of a digression, I’m trying to track down the details of the big Texas battle’s key court decision. The BLM took a bit over 100 acres of land from a rancher named Henderson, who has land next to the Red River.

Now as I’m reading the things he’s said the first thing I notice is he keeps making contradictory claims. He paid for the land, but it was legitimately homesteaded land, but … oh dear dog it gets even worse.

So what I’d like to do is find the actual court case was and see what the actual facts on the ground were. You know, like why this case was in Oklahoma already and the state judge gave it to the federal to resolve. (Which probably has all the other law watchers and legal eagles going “huh?”, just like me.)

Henderson, in Texas, vs the United States. He claims to have lost it in 1984.
