I think of him as a shit magnet. Every shithead in the country wants to work for him. And if there’s a normal person willing to work for him, they’re just a shithead who’s managed to maintain a normal human disguise. I reckon Kelly and Mattis and plenty of others were always deranged assholes — Trump didn’t make ‘em that way, he just caused them to reveal their true natures.

Trump is the perfection of US movement conservatism.

That movement has constructed for itself a projected god synthesized from all the worst parts of human nature, and it turns out that Trump is an absolutely perfect match for the god thus constructed.

When Trumpists refer to Trump as their God-Emperor, they are being absolutely literal.
