Good point. Trump’s campaign reminds me of Mel Brooks’ “The Producers”. A scam that would only succeed if the campaign failed.

Hah. More years ago than I want to admit, I was the member of Boy Scout troop at a leadership camp. We had one guy in our patrol that nobody particularly liked. We were always talking about what an idiot he was. When Senior Patrol Leader elections came up, he had the most name recognition. And won.

I also wonder if the NYT viewed Trump as a member of the New York in-crowd and treated him as one of them.
