I actually cried the night we both decided he could read on his own. I read to him every night until right after he turned 12. Even as a baby. When he was very little I just read whatever I was reading. So whether he knows it or not, he’s “read” Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, The Alchemist, stuff I doubt I could ever get him to look at now.
