By “removing the whip,” he’s ejected them from the Conservative Party. While they’re not fired, they are cut off from any support from the party and if they choose to run for reelection they will either have to join another party or run as independents. It’s a bit more formal version of those Congresscritters here in the States who get cut off financially by their party when they cross the leadership one too many times. Sort of like what Steve King is going through right now.

That last sentence was supposed to ask What are elections for (which autocorrected to weekends… Sure, why not? 🙄).

This doesn’t sound like they’ve just pulled support. They got sacked (which is fired, right?) And they revoked their access to get into Parliament. That’s not just pulling support, that’s making them functionally unable to vote.
