It bears noting that the prosecutors were asking for “only” 18 months in the Capitol rioter case. Prosecutors usually ask for as much as they can, sometimes more. If they’re only asking for 18 months, it’s not like the judge is going to go way overboard and throw them in the slammer for 5 years. I’m happy he’s going to jail at all; and as pointed out in the previous thread, if a man who literally just walked into the Senate chamber with a flag and didn’t do any actual damage or have any seeming malice got 8 months, that does not bode well for the real assholes who tore shit up or attacked the police.

This sentence tells me that the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers are going to be prison gangs.
