For the record, Brazoria County is due south of Houston/Harris County and has a population of ~375,000.

There’s this, and the other case east of Houston of the brodozer kid trying to roll coal on six triathletes on bikes who hit them and put them in the hospital while the local police chief just covered it up. And Manchin’s coal empire and his daughter’s impunity, and the ruling family of a South Carolina county turning into a Southern Gothic movie-of-the-week, and on and on.

This sort of shit is Trumpworld: these feudal societies out of view of the major cities, where generations of princelings run the industries, police, and local governments by right of divine rule, and will fight to the death (at least other people’s deaths) to retain it. The face of Trumpworld is the asshole who raped his way through high school and inherited the local Ford dealership from his daddy. They’ve always been there, but now we’re seeing more of what they do.
