I met Ray way Way WAY back (before they were “famous”) They had opened a garage in the Charlestown section of Boston. Other than Ray (or one mechanic “on duty”) nobody else was in the shop. The concept was that you could bring your car there and ‘rent” a lift or a pit and air tools and do your own work. Ray (or whoever) was there to collect the ‘rent” money and give advice but it was mostly do it yourself
