Dorner was a newbie, still in training, and he indicted his senior officer. I’m not saying there wasn’t any racism at play, but the situation seems consistent with the usual, uhm, esprit du corps.

He also made the allegation after receiving a bad evaluation, which made his allegation of prisoner abuse questionable from the get-go.

There is also the fact that Dorner’s training officer was a woman, so it remains possible that Dorner himself is a bigot, that meaning one of those men who has intense antipathy to female authority.
