At this point it has to be strategy, because McConnell is going to rodent copulate any impeachment trial in the Senate.

What can be done is collect the evidence against Trump and those who protect him, and make that information available to the voters. That takes hearings, and those are going on now.

That said, as I noted above, virtually every religious denomination voted for Trump over Clinton. Conservatism is also a religion.

I think the best we can hope for is convincing enough Republicans that “both sides are equally bad” and they stay away from the polls.

I rather think that’s where things are being lost in translation, if not really indicative of how fucked things are in this country with regards to basic civics concepts. The perception that impeachment in the House is simply a vote that just suddenly gets called and happens, that there are no hearings involved and no efforts to make the case for said vote, is something we should we working to address right now. Rather than latching onto them as an argument for inaction.
