When I was a kid, Continental Bakeries made Wonder Bread/Twinkies/Snowballs/etc.
I know that because my dad worked there for 12 years. (Sioux City, Iowa division. He poured the white stuff in the cream filled cupcakes)

Was that a name change, a merger, buyout, what?

The article listed Hostess as the maker of the snacks. I just remember exactly where they were in the general store where I would visit coming home from school. Top shelf, right at the end of the row….next to the Hostess Chocolate Cup Cakes. Of course.
