Yeah, I’ve given up on diplomacy based victories. I just build up for war to come.

I had Suleiman, of all people, getting on my case early in the game. Kept calling me up every so many moves to tell me how small my army was and how “easy” it would be to conquer me. I expected that shit from Napoleon or Montezuma, but not Suleiman.
