I just downloaded the ISO to a flash drive…maybe I should use my other laptop to create the flash. I only have 2GB drives, so I can’t use live DVD (needs 4+)…but I should be able to fix that…good idea on using boot manager. I still hate Meg.

Use pendrive. A USB drive will not boot without syslinux as a boot loader. If you just copied the iso to the drive you actually don’t have a bootable or installable source.
