So I once got an unsolicited mail from an “attractive young Russian girl”.

I had just gotten my Cyrillic keyboard installed and needed the practice, so I decided to enter into a correspondence with this person. I figured that as soon as she asked for money, I would simply drop it.

Oddly enough, she did not, she said that she had just received a bonus from work and wanted to come out and visit me at her own expense.

But things did not quite add up, so I googled “Russian women + scam” and found a site from the US State Dept describing the way they got around asking directly for money: namely after they announce you the date that they are coming and even giving flight information and everything, you go to meet them at the airport.

But they do not get off the plane. Then you receive an urgent message, they are there, but have been detained by Customs and Immigration, they just need to show that they have € or $ 2,000 in cash in order to be allowed into the country.

If you could just wire it over, they can get through customs and will give it right back…

we just today got a fax from ignatius morgen chombo (himself!)

wants us to take custody of $100 million dollars of his and keep it safe
we get to keep 20% for our assistance

what may have tipped me off:
