Let’s take the Grand Psycho at his word insofar as doing so continues to isolate him from the rest of the population and the world. He’s one of the very last individuals who deserves the benefit of your doubt.

I don’t think the issue here is ‘the benefit of the doubt’, but more an awareness that what Middle Eastern leaders say is hardly ever what they mean. Taking these guys at their word is one thing, but taking them at face value—maybe not smart.

I think WUP’s question is, who is this guy really talking to right now, and what is he really saying?
