Lots of us take the word of others on many subjects. If Sergey tells me that some dude is a Holocaust denier, I’ll believe that without reading him firsthand. But I wouldn’t say it’s what I think.

Well sure, but if someone I knew to be reasonable then came to me and told me that Sergey may be wrong in this case, I’d probably look into it more.
