There’s an Op Ed in the LA Times today by a writer who has a book based on the theory that JFK wasn’t the actual target in Dallas. According to this theory, the really target was Texas Governor John Connally.

Basic story is that Oswald wanted to kill Connally because after his attempted defection to the USSR his honorable discharge was reduced to undesirable discharge. When Oswald returned to the States, that undesirable discharge likely cost him jobs, he wrote to Connally who was Navy Secretary at the time, and was ignored.

How different would the world be, but for a letter reclassifying Oswald’s discharge.

OMG, JFK is dead —can we let him rest.

John Connally is an interesting figure —but One only has to read the series on LBJ by Robert Caro to learn about him.
