Our county sheriff is a nice guy, from a Mexican immigrant family. I do not understand why he is in the Republican Party (which is why I consistently leave the county sheriff line blank on ballots since no Democrats run for sheriff - I’d vote for a Libertarian if one ran for sheriff).
