Roughly as many people are killed by guns nationally as are killed in car accidents. The thing is, pretty much all vehicular deaths are unintentional, whereas the majority of gun deaths are intentional.

There used to be a lot more vehicular deaths/100k than gun deaths /100k. But as I say, we regulated the hell out of cars, and have in some ways actually DEregulated guns.

I know that. I’m not talking about all car accidents. Just ones where someone really does accidentally kill a family member, friend or relative. Like backing out of a driveway, driving forward by mistake and pinning someone into the wall.
