Lowe’s isn’t exactly a bastion of liberalism; that said they’re no where near the level of freakazoid that Home Depot is.

In Madison we only had a HD & Menards, a regional chain started in my home town. John Menard is a real sick puppy. He’s been known to fire long time employees who were days away from retirement so that he’d not have to pay said retirement. He also was forced to pay the largest individual fine from the WI DNR for disposing of hazardous wastes from his stores in his personal garbage can. Given that choice, even HD was better… O_o

John Menard eh? I know all about him from my heavy following of CART/Indy car racing. He was one of the big team owners. Many years ago there was a web site that listed all of his quirks. Some of it was truly sick. After reading that I knew I never wanted to go into one of his stores. At that time there were very few stores in Ohio. In the last 5 years they have opened 3 of them in the Columbus area. Haven’t been in one yet. Hope to never be forced to have to buy anything from that idiot.

My brother bought a fully framed patio door to replace the one that was rotting out in his home. When he got it home and really started to work to get it in he found all kinds of issues. Basically it was a cheap piece of junk. He asked for a replacement and that broke out into a 6 month war with Menards.

William, you only touch on his creepiness. It is very deep and wide.
