Yes, if Duterte had spent the length of time requirement in this country, he could have run. HW is talking about someone just coming into this country and running. As we’re seeing, the natural born citizenship requirement isn’t protecting us from foreign influence, autocracy, or idiocy. It should be eliminated because it does limit those who would otherwise be way more qualified than Trump from running just because of where their parents are from.

Try this counterargument: Should there be a constitutional amendment limiting the ability of those whose parents were arrested for being associated with Nazis from running? It would have eliminated Trump.
