There would be calls for resignation, with accusations made that the only reason he’s not been fired is because he’s black and thus immune to the same sort of standards a white secretary would be subject to.

Meanwhile, the White House won’t force his resignation and Republicans won’t say anything about this because he’s their token in the administration and they fear political backlash if they hold him to the very standards they’d demand of a Democrat.
