I rather think that’s where things are being lost in translation, if not really indicative of how fucked things are in this country with regards to basic civics concepts. The perception that impeachment in the House is simply a vote that just suddenly gets called and happens, that there are no hearings involved and no efforts to make the case for said vote, is something we should we working to address right now. Rather than latching onto them as an argument for inaction.

To start impeachment, the House has to pass a bill authorizing the Justice Committee to proceed. This is the first hurdle, and of course has to pass before the first witness is called. I don’t think it’s a done deal that this would pass.
