re: #214 Taqiyyotomist

I SO wish I could go back in time and tune the E string on the bass in Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Stir it Up”. It’s hard to listen to that song for me, the bass is so out of tune. First bass note in the song makes my teeth grit, like nails on the chalkboard.

You reminded me of this: Jamie Lidell: “Multiply.” Not a reggae song, but the guitar riff reminds me a little of the one in “Stir it Up,” even though this riff is actually much more reminiscent of “She Caught the Katy.” More importantly, in “Multiply,” the high E-string on the guitar is very, very flat, and it really bugs me. Not the guitar that’s playing the repeating riff, the lead guitar. I really wish I could just reach in there and tune it up for the guy.

I still enjoy the tune.
