Something to consider here.. The unintended consequence of the Feds charging Zimmerman with a hate crime would be that it would mean a conviction for the 2nd degree murder charge could lead to the death penalty and it is highly likely there will be more of a reluctance by some on the jury to convict a person if they think it will lead to execution. Just saying.

I’ll reiterate, I think it’s the media bringing up the death penalty. I believe it does not even apply to this case. It’s more in the realm of James Byrd (dragged behind truck)
