He makes a good point. My dad can’t spell for shit, but he’s one of the smartest people I know. But…

Poor spelling indicates inattention to detail and lack of technological acumen (autocorrect, spellchecking), neither of which is a good thing, especially on Twitter. I’ll be one of the first people to advocate paying attention to the message and not the way it is presented, but I’m also the kind of guy that throws out a resume if it has spelling and formatting errors. If you can’t learn how to spell words and use them correctly, or at least rely on a machine to do that for you, don’t expect to be taken seriously.
